Do your products contain any nut oils?

Yes, always check our ingredient lists before purchasing. If you are considering purchasing one of our products containing a nut oil we recommend consulting your doctor first. We do offer a range of nut-free oil products. Please email us for more information. See our contact us page for details.

How Soon Can I expect my Order?

After an order is placed please allow up to one week for your order to ship. We handcraft each item we send out. This includes creating, bottling, labelling and shipping. Handcrafted items do take a little longer to produce than mass produced items. Many of our items are made to order so they are at the peak of freshness when you receive them. Please let us know if you need an item by a certain date and we will always do our best to accomodate your needs. Thank you!

For AUS. Orders: After shipping please allow another three days for your order to arrive unless express order has been requested via email. For International Orders: Please allow up to 4 weeks for your order to arrive after shipping. Usually, it will arrive sooner, but customs departments do have the right to hold items and there is not much we can do about this. Also, we do not pay for anything to be released from customs to you.

How to return products

First of all, please email us to let us know the reason for the return, then print out a copy of your email and send it back to us with your products. Returns will not be accepted unless you have emailed us first as this will help us help you and all of our customers in the future.

Please note that your return must be sent back within 30 days of the order date.

Is Everything that you make really 100% Natural?

We only use the finest natural ingredients we can find. This includes herbs, botanical extracts, butters, clays, sea salts, and natural oils. We do not use anything artificial (no dyes, no synthetics, no chemical preservatives). However, there are two Body Balms’ that contain less than 0.5% of a phthalate-free fragrant oil  and is considered safe for  human health and the environment.

We ship orders with couriers and Australia Post, and we will send an email to you with tracking details once your order has shipped.

If you’d like your parcel left in a secure location at home, please leave a note on your order and let us know, with any instructions. Please note – if you do request your order to be left, we are not liable for any losses which may occur.

What about if the product breaks, is faulty, or is not what I ordered?

In this case, we’re happy to provide a refund, replacement, exchange or store credit, including all postage costs. Please make sure you email us within 7 days of receiving your order, so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

What amount of the Bath Salts or Bath Soaks do I put into my bath water?

We suggest using ¼ of the bottle of salts, and ⅙ to ⅛  of  the bottle of soaks per bath. The bath salts are intended to last for approximately 4-5 baths. Our soaks are intended to last for approximately 5-8 baths. Also, there is no harm in adding more or less, its really personal preference.

What happens if I don’t like the products I ordered?

Please send us an email at yardskincare@gmail.com to let us know what the problem is. We’re always interested to receive feedback. Then, send your products back in re-saleable condition (unopened and unused) within 30 days of the order date, and we will be happy to provide you with an exchange or store credit (postage not included).

NB: Returned items must be received by us in the same condition as you received them.

What if my Face Dew looks cloudy?

Our Hydrating Mists all contains organic Aloe gel. Since this is a natural, unprocessed ingredient, every batch of Aloe gel that comes to us varies slightly in cloudiness, resulting in variations of cloudiness/clarity in each batch that we make. This cloudiness does not make the product less effective or less pure, it is simply a result of the natural look of the aloe gel itself. Always shake bottle before use.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Since most of our products are truly all natural and we do not use any unnatural preservatives at all, our products do have a shelf life, typically 18 months. If our products are kept out of direct sunlight and at room temperature or below they will stay fresher longer. All of our liquid products include a totally natural preservative called Leucidal (Radish Root Ferment). We also use vitamin E, grape seed and rosemary extracts in some of our products to extend the natural shelf life and keep the oils in their freshest and most potent form. In the rare case that you purchase one of our products and find that it is not at its freshest point please email us so we can handle this on a case by case basis. When is the best time to apply the Body Balm?

We recommend applying our Body Balms’ after a shower,  morning and night. They are meant to take the place of a cream moisturiser and you should not need another moisturiser if you use the correct amount. Your body does not need to be completely dry to apply the Body Balm, in fact, it is helpful and increases fast absorption and spreadability if your body is slightly damp.

We recommend letting your skin absorb the oils for 3-5 minutes before getting dressed since the oil does need time to sink into your skin. If your skin feels oily after this 3-5 minutes you are using too much of the Body Balm. If your skin feels dry and you want more moisture you are probably not using enough Body Balm. The oil should absorb and not leave any greasy / oily feeling at all. Your skin will instantly feel hydrated, soft and  smooth after applying the correct amount.  

Why are there small lumps in my Bloss?

In hot weather our blosses have a tendency to melt and then solidify once the room temperature cools. This can cause our beautiful natural butters to go a little grainy, in particular organic shea butter. The reason is due to shea butter fatty acid profile. Shea butter is made up of – 3 to 7% palmitic acid (C16), 35 to 45% stearic acid (C18), 40 to 55% oleic acid (C18:1), and 3 to 8% linoleic acid (C18:2). After melting, the palmitic and stearic acids will eventually turn solid again, but each does it at a different temperature. If they cool slowly, the fatty acids can crystallise into large clumps, which causes the graininess. To prevent this, try to keep your bloss in a cool, dry place.
